Selfridge A.N.G.B. 2005

This was a good show. Weather was beautiful one day, miserable the next. Typical Michigan Spring day! Spent time with some friends, and saw some great demos.

My highlight was the Collings Foundation F-4D Phantom II. The banner photo shows it on take off.

The home town boys gave us a nice treat. F-16s, C-130s, and KC-135s did multiple passes to show us tax payers what our money is being invested in.

Here is the KC-135 Stratotanker "Stinger" pass.

F-16 Fighting Falcon

The show was themed "A Salute to the Vietnam Veteran" and had a nice spread of veteran aircraft.

One of my favorites, the A-1 Skyraider a.k.a. "Sandy"

Here is a beautiful T-33 Shooting Star owned by Fowler "Big Dog" Cary.

 * BANDIT! * Mig-17 Fresco

The Mig-17 was the premiere dog fighter for the early part of the Vietnam war. It was later replaced by the Mig-21, but it saw plenty of action against our fighters, including the F-4 Phantom II. The Phantom below is a "D" model, belonging to the Collings Foundation. It is painted to resemble Capt. Steve Ritchie's aircraft. He was the only USAF ace of the war.

The Blue Angels headlined the show.
