The event is hosted by the Yankee Air Museum located at Willow Run Airport in Belleville, Michigan. Last year they suffered a complete loss of their museum due to a fire. Fortuneately, their three flying aircraft were saved. The show was fantastic, and there were lots of rare, or rare to the mid-west aircraft.
There was a great turn out of World War II fighter Aircraft. P-47 Thunderbolts, P-40 Warhawks, and P-51 Mustangs. An extremely rare bird also arrived. An ME-109. The only one in North America flying manufactured in Germany, and powered by a Daimler-Benz engine. What an incredible aircraft!
